Schools across Sacramento are closed until the end of the school year. Virtual full schedule distance learning begins after Spring Break for most districts.
Distance Learning Tips: Using Google Classroom and Zoom requires patience, dedication, and a commitment to your personal success. If you are to succeed, it is up to you! You will find it helpful to:
- Follow a daily schedule – Your school may tell you the schedule to follow, if not, create your own schedule for class work and studying. Share that schedule with your family so they know when you are busy.
- Select a dedicated study space – You need a quiet space to work. Wherever you select, tell a parent so they can help preserve your quiet space.
- Make personal goals – Choose to complete homework daily, ask questions after each class, review class notes each evening, and reward yourself at the end of the week for your success.
- Take breaks – Take a break for a healthy snack, meal, connect with friends, play a game, etc. Limit your breaks to no more than 20 minutes. Watch out for activities that suck you in such, as video games and social media activities. Let those activities be “rewards” after you complete your work.
Find a remote study buddy – Connect with a friend before and after your study schedule and encourage each other.
